Everett Construction Group’s proposed work at the Fisher River Cree Nation Health Care Centre addresses deterioration of the exterior concrete grade beam caused by prolonged water infiltration and erosion beneath the slab.
The scope includes excavation and removal of the deteriorated beam, followed by construction of a new reinforced concrete grade beam in accordance with structural drawings prepared by Parsus Engineering. Temporary shoring will support the existing slab during the work, and existing concrete piles will be protected throughout demolition.
The repair includes drilled and epoxied reinforcing dowels, reinforcing steel, formwork and void forms. Lean-mix concrete will be placed beneath washed-out areas, with independent concrete testing and structural inspections included in the construction process. Backfilling, rigid insulation installation and site restoration will follow.
Construction is planned around the occupied facility, with site protection and controlled access intended to minimize disruption to Health Care Centre operations. The proposal estimates approximately three weeks of construction, subject to weather conditions and structural inspections.
